One of my ongoing goals as a teacher is to continue to learn and grow so I can best meet all the needs of all my students. The reason I decided to take this masters program on is that it provided an opportunity and pathway to do just that. With clarity being such a high effect size for student growth (Hattie), I wondered how I could leverage the digital world that is so innate to our students. I want to move from using technology from a teaching and learning tool, used to manage the class and digitalizing assignments, to have more meaning and purpose to the whole learning process. Being able to bounce Ideas off each other, honest feedback and criticism, and a good reality check is what I hope from fellow cohort members in completing my capstone. I hope to tap into all the experience and expertise of everyone, both teaching practices, and technology skills. I hope my new cohort knows that I will do the same. I think being new to the group is an advantage as it is that many more ideas and perspectives It didn't take long into the 1st class for me to realize the positive cohesion and support structure in cohort 15 was already established. It is essential that we are there to support each other as this can often be a struggle and a grind. I hope to be able to support others in whatever it may be at the time. As far as group Norms go, the important ones to me are have a sense of humor and understanding.

I agree with your comment of having more purpose. I believe if teacher has purpose in their lessons it shows that that teacher really cares and wants the best for their students instead of "calling it in" like other teachers who is just there for the pay check. We welcome you to our lovely Cohort 15 and I hope we can be a rock you can lean on if you need us.

Well said Jeff! Even though we are new to this cohort, it's good to know everyone has gone through a similar process and are in the program for the same reason. I'm sure we'll continue to learn and make sense of a lot of new content to help our students in that learning process.

Jeff, like you I am new to the cohort as well and you are right, this cohort seems very positive. You bring up 2 very important key points, honesty and constructive criticism are needed for this final capstone.
