At first I thought my students were in the audience because they are ultimately who this is for, right? After looking at the different capstone websites and going through the three semesters I realize students are not my audience they are the purpose.
The main audience for the capstone anyone Who may be looking For ways to help with Student clarity in the ever-changing digital and Educational world. After learning clarity had such a high effect size on student learning I wanted to know how. How can we get students more clear on learning objectives, character for success, and a way to monitor progress towards these goals? I feel I have had some success using digital platforms so I would want to share that with colleagues, new teacher candidates, and even scholars in the education world like Hattie or Michael McDowell themselves Napa Learns are also part of my audience as they have committed resources for me to pursue this research After looking over some websites in the other cohorts, it looks like the learn more page is a snapshot into the research that I have done. Links to my research paper, lessons, how to’s and assessments all land on this page. Also, I will need to include a summary of the work that has been done throughout the program. Maybe an infographic of the data from the research, an image of Hattie’s effect size scale. Samples of student work, maybe some pictures or screenshots may be good here as well. I will also have some kind of visual of the programs are used like flip grid, screencast-O-Matic, Google forms to name a few. After going through the linking process and looking at several of the capstone websites I can start to see how the pages are laid out and what is needed on each of the pages. Presentation is also really important and now I see the application of all those tricks on form and color of logos and info graphics we are learning in 703. I am starting to get a little nervous about the amount of stuff that needs to be cleaned up and put on the website, let alone what still needs to be created.

I agree with your statement on who will be your audience. Just like mine, my audience changed from my students to my peers and co-workers. To make a difference you must reach the masses, and the only way to reach that goal is to get help from peers and co-workers. The needs of the many out weighs the needs of the few, or the one.

I really liked that line "they aren't the audience, they are the purpose." I think that's the best way to describe this process we have been going through the last 7 months or so. I'm definitely with you on the worrying about the site part as well. I think that it's going to take quite a bit of work for us to get it laid out in a way that makes sense to those who are reading it.

Great way to introduce your blog this week with letting us know that your students are your purpose and that anyone who is ready to make a change in the educational world is who your capstone is for. What if some one like Hattie or McDowell do get a hold of your capstone and are curious about your work and want to find more? What will you plan on doing with providing other educators with data or other lesson plans? Is this something that maybe interests you? I am also with you on that having us going through our website and linking everything helped me get a better idea of the pages that I will be working on and what might be going on there too.
